Toronto Wedding Photos (Well, GTA) With Old Friends & New

Well, then – what a long time it has been since I’ve put words to our blog! As much as I commit to keeping our site updated with every wedding we shoot, I am indeed failing miserably – between every weekend packed full of weddings to engagement photos in Toronto and area during the week, there’s little time left…not to mention we are planning the arrival of our first child in the next few months! Truly, I cannot even begin to explain what a whirlwind of a summer this has been already, and can’t imagine just how much busier it will still get.

This all being said, I thought it only fair to share a truly lovely wedding we shot recently for Cassie & Sean. After our bride and groom preperation, we had the pleasure to take their wedding photos at Trafalgar Castle School ; following that, a wedding ceremony and wedding photos at the Deer Creek Golf & Country Club.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Cassie through a mutual friend from what seems like 100 years ago; in the planning stages for this wedding, it was a seamless process coordinating both their wants and expectations for the wedding photography while ensuring we did what we do best. Though a large wedding party can sometimes be a difficult task to keep organized, I can’t remember a time that such a large group of people was so in sync with a photoshoot and everything went flawlessly.

An excellent day and event we weere proud to cover. All the best to you both!

Loretta & Jonathan – the Non-Wedding Wedding

Having the wedding ceremony prior to the actual wedding day? Man oh man, does that ever relieve a lot of stress! ๐Ÿ˜€ So often, brides and grooms get wrapped up in the moment to moment stresses of the wedding day – from ceremony start to making sure dinner is at the proper time, a most special event can be lost to micromanagement. A ceremony seperately, followed by a celebratory reception? Now that’s where it’s at! You’ll notice this set of images lacks that ceremonial portion, and simply captures two people in love, starting their lives together – door games, tea ceremony, and party. Once again, the amazing Nathaniel D was my secondary photographer for this event.

Man of the hour.

Door games! Loretta listens in from upstairs while her husband starts his assault.

This image deserves a huge print. From Loretta’s makeup work (cheers Peggy Lee Bridal), the soft light, and the stunning expression.

Tea ceremony.

This just makes me happy.

Another shot that I just felt deserved a lot more space to be appreciated. There were about 10 versions of this frame shot from slightly different angles, and this one just seemed to pull everything together.

Spencers at the Waterfront always has amazing backdrops.

A bit of play with light and shadow helps create a bit of mood here.

Nate helps out as a light-test subject with one of Loretta’s lovely BMs.

This bridal image just sings.

Just perfect.

Just a capture that I couldn’t help but share from our groom.

This helps to give an idea of just how great everything looked.

Sometimes a slideshow is great laughs for every other person at the wedding. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Strapless dresses make for tricky tosses. Thankfully our bride is an awesome sport and didn’t mind at all that we post up this shot, which is pretty damn funny.
