The Mud-Splattered Bride
…see what I did there? The whole Tarantino thing? I’m sure you did..!
I’ve already received a few emails as to what, exactly, a ‘Trash The Dress’ photosession is. Definitely outside of the normal ‘wedding photo’ realm, what happens is the bride (and groom, though often it’s more of a bride-focused set) at some point after her marriage (once the planning, the stress, and the excitement is over), takes her gorgeous gown out one last time for a beautiful, fashionable photosession. Generally this occurs in locations and situations outside of where you would usually wear a wedding dress, though destroying or even dirtying the dress isn’t absoluteley necessary.
This was the first part of the session for Ray & Joyce’s ‘dress annihilation’ session – believe it or not, this is the same dress she later wore in the City series (props to Joyce’s mom for a bang-up cleaning job!). Huge props to Andy King again for the assistance, behind the scenes, and the Title image. Enjoy!

That picture of you splashing out of the water is too sexy. Haha
Great photos man, love the way you play with light and shadow, focus and detail. Oh, and mud ofcourse, heh.
Jeremy – you’re a really really talented photographer with a great eye for light.
Are most of your shots done with a single speed light? It seems some you’ve managed to bring 2 lights (1 front 1 back) and some with an umbrella or softbox – which surprises me given that you’re in full daylight and these things aren’t that bright…
Blaise
Hi Blaise,
At some points, 2 or 3 lights are used – be it a combination of speedlights/strobes or just one or the other. Thank you very much for the kind words!
